A deviation towards delight on these last Solstice Nights!
This conversation is about exploring and experiencing pleasure and play, even with the natural challenges that can come in the holiday season. So many years I rely of the sparkle and tree to bring simple pleasure but this year I was tired and decided to forgo the tree…now weeks later I am finding my own starlight beginning to shine.
Peek into your life and see where there is magic afoot, even in the midst of deep rest or unmet needs. Invite and find where the shimmer of excitement is calling you to come back to yourself.
Invite the inner child to step into your skin – restore a state of pleasure, play and discover where that delight can guide your life!

Snow
A dreamed Christmas,
flakes shaken out of silences so far
and starry we can’t sleep for listening
for papery rustles out there in the night
and wake to find our ceiling glimmering,
the day a psaltery of light.So we’re out over the snow fields
before it’s all seen off with a salt-lick
of Atlantic air, then home at dusk, snow-blind
from following chains of fox and crow and hare,
to a fire, a roasting bird, a ringing phone,
and voices wondering where we are.A day foretold by images
of glassy pond, peasant and snowy roof
over the holy child iconed in gold.
Or women shawled against the goosedown air
pleading with soldiers at a shifting frontier
in the snows of television,while in the secret dark a fresh snow falls

Explore your stories with image, color, words, dreams and things – create a little cluster of objects…hang a bauble on a branch. Light a candle in the night and rest with the warmth of your own tending. Seek simple moments of wonder, pleasure and play. Remember that your form of pleasure and play is distinctive and perfect for you! Notice how you can embrace and welcome that part of yourself.
