“There are holes in my heart where grief floods in and love pours out.”

                                                                                              – Cat Caracelo

March 8th is a celebration day and so many needed changes have happened that we can honor, celebrate, activate and continue to benefit from as women. This is also a time of acknowledging that there is a long way to go. The “not yet” and unequivocal reversals that impact women near and far, younger and older, along with deficits of benefit, deep inequities and worldwide challenges need to be seen as well.

Today, I feel the need to make some space for what is a complex collective conversation, as we honor and celebrate.

This is for you, us and all people that are envisioning a lineage of the women who are alive right now, Honoring, celebrating and deepening the powerful ways we are each called to amplify what matters most…

From the very beginning, as I was listening and chose to open my awareness to explore and travel the path of healing, there was a deep desire to impact others in a positive and generative ways. As I experienced my own transformation and continue to connect, learn and grow, I feel the pressure of knowing, living and continuing to expand when there is much undone.

It takes enormous effort to be alive in life, to choose a path of caring and consideration. I bow to you as a women connected at the heart, for continuing to choose, consider and grow into what matters most to you…

I share these words, now adapted and evolved from when I first spoke them on International Women’s Day, in 2016. This is my way to continue to honor all we do, in profound and everyday kinds of ways.

There is much on our minds and hearts.

Because we are ever being called to tend to what matters most, called at times to live outside of our lives and yet pay attention to the impact of women as a force that catalyzes. We yearn to support those efforts and act when we are called to protect what matters most or reject what is destructive…remaining responsive to the world in all of its despair, pain and potential is challenging.

We need to be reminded to celebrate, that what you do matters.

The words came from me, but they are not mine, they are OURS.

As artist, or activist, I honor all the ways YOU choose to be, see, love, express, share, speak, stand, pray, paint, map, march, mark, make, act, acknowledge and extend your reach to touch and impact the worlds and others.

“We who are many generations of women, called to know and grow, to wield wisdom, to seek peace – we must understand our stories, meet our pains, our strengths and our possibilities.

We are connecting to deeply held dreams, our own and those of women, who hold the light throughout time. We listen and make space for truth, our own stories that seek the edge of pain where change cuts through…

We, as the change makers, healers, activists and artists of life in our own skin must be willing to initiate ourselves again and again, learning to dive deep into that which is hidden or harbored. To face our fears and step forward.

Women who are the daughters, mothers, sisters, lovers, friends must gather in safe places to tell the stories that are waiting to be told. Only then can we live into the life that is possible.

Gathering our stories honors healing and wholeness, and understanding the layers of our own truths moves us closer to trust. To engage healing in one’s own life is to understand again and again, that we are never not broken and always whole.

Trust that the ripple effect that comes from any internal shifts you make, finding light will always extend in more directions than one can imagine. We who are willing to activate internally and then gather new knowledge forward, find the abilities, strengths and insights that have been under expressed in our lives. It is here we can rise inside and speak to what matters most.

We cannot underestimate the impact of personal growth and expression as an agent of change.”

May we each endeavor to expand the field of peace for all who are suffering, anywhere in the world. May we gather the pain, heartache, worries, trauma, heartbreak to make something better. May we extend our heart with art, healing, prayers, responsive help in all forms, and influence, with love at the center of all.

All of it matters.

These words reflect my own understanding of who we are…

I share them again on this day of remembering, solidarity and full expression, to all women, all children and all who extend energy, fight for or focus on human rights, medical rights, earth-healing, life with dignity and seek peace.

Listen to these words as an invocation.

I’m struck by what I shared in 2016, 2018, 2022, 2024 and now 2025, knowing where life has taken us in the last years and how we are being challenged again and again, and called forward now…

There is potency activated in all that we do…

Prospering is active choice to be true to your Path – don’t forget that.

All that YOU do holds meaning, and matters!
